National First-Gen Day is an opportunity to raise awareness of the strengths of first-generation college students, faculty, and staff as well as a way to support, elevate, and increate the visibility of being first-generation on campus. The University of North Alabama will celebrate its first-generation community on Nov. 7 from 2-4 p.m. at Collier Library.

The Department of Foreign Languages at the University of North Alabama will celebrate National French Week through Nov. 12 with a variety of campus-based cultural events, including Croissants with the French Club on Thursday, Nov. 7, at 11:30 a.m. on the lawn of Wesleyan Hall.
The University of North Alabama has been selected to be part of the 2024-25 Scholars Transforming Through Research (STR) Program through the Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR). Only 63 teams from across the United States have been selected for this competitive, application-based professional development opportunity for teams that include a campus representative and one to three undergraduate students.
The LIONS Bridge Program is an exciting initiative aimed at increasing diversity in engineering at the University of North Alabama. Thanks to a National Science Foundation (NSF) grant, the program will officially launch in Summer 2025.
The University of North Alabama Horn Choir has been awarded First Prize in the Kings Peak International Music Competition, the second time in three years that the Horn Choir has placed first in a competition at the international level.

The Marching Pride of North Alabama will join the holiday march to the call of “Let’s Have a Parade™,” the iconic phrase that has signaled the start of every Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade since 1924.
